Science Lab Coordinator

The Biomedical and Health Sciences department is searching for a part-time lab coordinator position, starting in January 2022. The coordinator of the science labs will perform a variety of assignments—including, but not limited to–management of materials and set-up and break down of labs for biology, chemistry, and physical science courses. Additionally, this role will have an opportunity to teach lab courses as an Adjunct faculty member. The department is growing, and in the near future, the department will offer a Nursing program.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions as a Lab Coordinator:
- Lab preparation, cleaning, and organizing
- Prep weekly labs by making needed solutions and media
- Assist in lab duties associated with biology and chemistry courses
- Work with the Sciences faculty to order supplies and equipment as needed
- Perform general office assistance related to the Science area
A master’s or advanced degree in science is preferred with lab experience. Those with a B.S. degree in another field, along with experience, also are encouraged to apply. Minimum coursework in Chemistry I and II and Biology I and II; preferred coursework in Organic Chemistry, Microbiology, etc. A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualification.
